Entering Fall on Brighter Horizons

Greetings!

Thank you all for such a wonderful September here at BN! If you are here from meeting us at this year’s DragonCon in Atlanta, we welcome you to our community.

First, I would like to say that we raised almost $4,000 in honor of my birthday this year. This helps us tremendously with our operations and our ability to provide the community that many nonbelievers and religion doubters need. We could not do this without you!

I am also happy to share that we have co sponsored Team Rayceen’s Sights and Sounds Art All Night Shaw, which is coming up on Saturday, September 30th. This event is free to attend and benefits the LGBTQ+ community and more in the Washington, D.C. area. In addition, we have supported this year’s California Freethought Day, taking place October 7th and 8th, in Sacramento. You can access the schedule and also tune in virtually if you would like to check out this important secular community event.

Finally, we have teamed up with the Atlanta chapter of the Satanic Temple for the Halloween Sinners Ball on October 20th! There will be a burlesque and drag show, along with a costume contest and more. This fundraising event will benefit reproductive justice work here in Georgia, which is still a battleground in ongoing efforts. We hope that you will attend, and if you cannot, that you will lend your support.

The recipient for the 2023 Hurston student scholarship has been chosen, and will be announced soon.

As we close out September (my birthday month), I would like to humbly thank you, and ask for your continued support for BN. Community, education, and support is VERY important to us, because this leads to FREEDOM. Which we will fight for, with love.

Building. Back. BETTER.

Sincerely,
