Greetings,
We are celebrating another season of thanks in the the United States. And at Black Nonbelievers, we have so much to be thankful for, especially all who support our work throughout the year.
In 2025, there has been much talk about who “belongs” in America and what makes it so great. Well, for those of us who love history and democracy, that means honoring the people who were indigenous to this part of the world, the enslaved Africans who built this country, and the many people who immigrated, worked hard, and made America the rich, cultural tapestry that it is today. And we cannot allow those who are ignorant of this to poison and erase their legacies – OUR legacies.
So as we continue to navigate these challenging times, let us take the time to celebrate our loved ones, and continue to support those in need – especially the nonreligious folks who may be estranged from their families. If we can learn anything from 2025, it is that we still have strength and power as people, and that we must continue to use it.
However you are spending this day, we hope that it is in the “spirit” of the many harvest celebrations of the past, and how we will shape our future.
We are truly thankful for YOU!
Sincerely,
Mandisa L. Thomas
