Greetings!
As we come to the 3rd year of Juneteenth as a national holiday in the United States, at Black Nonbelievers, we continue to celebrate in the “spirit” of liberation while challenging the historical and institutional injustices that still directly affect the our communities.
From representing at celebrations in Chicago, IL and Lithonia (Atlanta area), GA, and at the annual Secular Student Alliance conference in Little Rock, AR, we remain committed to our advocacy, outreach, support for all in this Juneteenth and Pride month of 2024.
The history of Juneteenth and the fight for racial, economic, reproductive justice shows that while we are making progress, we still have along way to go. So as we celebrate this day and this month, let us continue to make our voices heard and our actions louder. As a nonreligious community, we can lead the way when it comes to equality, equity, and liberation for us all.
Happy Juneteenth and Pride in 2024.
Sincerely,
Mandisa L. Thomas
