Greetings,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Detroit, MI area BN member, Ms. Gwendolyn Rose Forrest.
Gwendolyn was a long time activist, author, and Humanist, whose latest publication was titled, Born Good Enough. She was featured on our show In The Cut, on March 4th, 2023.
Gwendolyn was also a member of the American Humanist Association, the NAACP, Planned Parenthood, and more. She dedicated her life to civil/human rights and social justice, and we were so honored that she was part of our community.
On Facebook, Gwendolyn’s family shared her wish for everyone to make a donation to their favorite organization. She was a regular financial contributor to BN, and we would like to ask you to do the same. Of course we encourage you to donate to other organizations and causes, however, your support for us would be greatly appreciated.

We also encourage you to visit her website to buy her books, and read her poetry and other works.
In these turbulent times and as we chart a course towards justice, let us remember and honor members of our community, especially those who paved the way and made the world a better place. That is a legacy Gwendolyn left for us.
At BN, we will miss her dearly.

Sincerely,

Mandisa L. Thomas
