Greetings,
One the heels of our recent Revival of Reason and participating in the Summit for Religious Freedom, we are approaching Easter weekend, also referred to as the “Resurrection” holiday.
Of course, we know there is no evidence of said event, or even the literal existence of Jesus (or any gods for that matter), however, that isn’t stopping millions of people from celebrating. Including Christians who are imposing their beliefs onto public policy, which is causing harm to many U.S. citizens.
As we continue to brace ourselves for the onslaught in religious privilege this weekend, and in the near future, we are moving forward with our own resurrection – of REASON.
This spring and summer, we have a full lineup ahead. First, we are so pleased to cosponsor the 2025 Hurston scholarship for Black Nonreligious student activists. If you are a secular student or know any qualified students, please take a look at the full list of available opportunities at the Secular Student Alliance’s website.
Also, we will be hosting the hybrid discussion “Deconstruction While Black”, which will be spearheaded by our Chicago area affiliate. All are welcome to attend for free in person, or online via Zoom.

Other upcoming events where you can find BN: The Annual conferences for the American Humanist Association (which will feature our very own Cynthia McDonald) and the Secular Student Alliance, The Ark Encounter Protest (featuring yours truly), and the Nashville Nones Convention, also known as NaNoCon, which will include a performance by the Godless Gospel ensemble (of which me, Cynthia and other activists are members).
We are still on course for BN SeaCon 2025 in November, and there is still time to get in your deposit and reasonable payment plans. This is one of our premiere events, and you don’t want to miss out!
Of course, none of this happens without your generous support. We do not expect to see you at all of the events, but we do hope that you will consider attending at least one or more, and definitely donating to our ongoing work.
So this weekend, whether you are staying home or getting out and about, let’s continue to resurrect reason with activism, community, and support. There is still work to do, and we can accomplish it together.
Thank you as always!!!

Sincerely,
Mandisa L. Thomas
